Enhanced Business Features:

T1 Circuits- Offers up to 24 voice channels on one circuit. Unchannelized, the T-1 (1,544 Mbps) can be used for data applications such as compressed voice, video and IP telephony

T3 Circuits- Typically offers service over a fiber network at the equivalent of 28 T-1s or 45 Mbps of bandwidth

PRI (Primary Rate Interface)- PRIs have 24 channels (23 B channels and 1 D channel). They are capable of transmitting up to 1.544 Mbps. It is designed for uses such as PBXs, computer telephony and voice processing systems. 'D' Channels signaling provides a powerful and flexible mechanism for call control, network management, security and other applications. A single number or a block of numbers (DID-Direct Inward Dialing) can be assigned to the PRI. These numbers are not associated with any specific channel and can be used to dial directly to an extension.

LAN (Local Area Network) Services- High-speed, low-error data network covering a relatively small geographic area (up to a few thousand meters). LANs connect workstations, peripherals, terminals, and other devices in a single building or other geographically limited area.

VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) Services- can be viewed as a group of devices on different physical LAN segments which can communicate with each other as if they were all on the same physical LAN segment. Benefits include: Increased performance, Improved manageability, Network tuning, and Increased Security

Transparent LAN Services- links remote Ethernets together, it is called "transparent" because the connected Ethernets are viewed as one Ethernet by the customer, regardless of the technology employed by the carrier in between.

Website Hosting- Reedsburg Utility Commission provides web hosting services to businesses of all sizes. Once your website is created RUC will work with your web designer or technician thru the uploading process of your website by establishing an FTP username and password.
